Selected Artists

VISIONARY VOICES: Echoes of Inner Worlds brings together 20 contemporary visionary artists from around the world, each offering a distinct visual language shaped by mythology, symbolism, dream imagery, ancestral memory, and personal exploration.

Through painting and immersive expression, these artists invite viewers into deeply imaginative worlds that inspire reflection, wonder, and connection.

Leonora Carrington Museum, Xilitla

The Leonora Carrington Museum is one of Mexico’s most iconic spaces dedicated to surrealist art. Created as a tribute to Leonora Carrington, the museum preserves her legacy while serving as a living platform for contemporary visionary expression.

Nestled in the heart of the Sierra Huasteca, Xilitla is a dreamlike landscape of mountains, mist, lush jungle, and impossible architecture , a place where art, myth, and nature converge in a truly surreal atmosphere.

Within this extraordinary setting, the exhibition unfolds as a meeting point between contemporary visionary art, surrealist history, and the cultural spirit of Xilitla.

Alongside the exhibition, the gathering will include curated experiences, artist encounters, and visits to iconic locations such as Las Pozas, the surrealist garden created by Edward James, as well as museum visits, local cultural experiences, and community activities designed to deepen connection and creative exchange.

Curatorial Vision

VISIONARY VOICES: Echoes of Inner Worlds was created as a space where visionary art can exist in meaningful dialogue with imagination, symbolism, spirituality, and human connection.

For many years, visionary art has remained on the margins of the contemporary art world despite its profound capacity to explore inner experience, myth, healing, and expanded states of awareness. This exhibition seeks to honor those practices within one of Mexico’s most surreal and culturally significant landscapes.

Set within the atmosphere of Xilitla and the Leonora Carrington Museum, the exhibition brings together artists from diverse backgrounds whose works emerge through deeply personal and visionary processes.

More than a traditional exhibition, Visionary Voices seeks to cultivate encounters between artists, community, and place through shared experiences, conversation, and creative exchange.

In a fragmented world, visionary art reminds us of our relationship to mystery, imagination, and the deeper dimensions of being human.

Visionary Voices Weekend

Alongside the exhibition Visionary Voices: Echoes of Inner Worlds, opening June 5, 2026, at the Leonora Carrington Museum in Xilitla, we invite all selected artists, along with their family or friends, to take part in a special weekend experience designed to expand and complement the exhibition.

As part of this gathering, Surrealism & Visionary Art: A Living Current will unfold at the Leonora Carrington Museum, offering a one-day immersive program of talks, activations, and shared encounters. This event brings together visionary artists, thinkers, and creators to deepen connections, exchange practices, and draw inspiration from the living legacy of surrealism.
